Every individual has enormous and unique value in the sight of their Creator simply through their existence and the unique set of talents & experiences they have to offer their Fellow Man. The stories of humanity and thought-provoking perspectives found under the Paradigm of the Person hope to challenge the reader to live life to the fullest, being free to choose their own path in life, but not being free to choose the consequences of their choices. These stories capture amazing people, sometimes completely unknown by or forgotten to much of humanity, that chose to make a difference and to overcome failures and challenges in their life, in the service of their fellow human beings.

With citizenship comes a broad spectrum of rights and privileges, but it also comes with immense responsibility to value that citizenship and to protect it & what it means for future generations. The inspirational stories and soul-searching perspectives of citizenship, visionary leadership, governance, and individual liberty under the Paradigm of the Citizen hope to challenge the reader to recognize the responsibilities they share as citizens of our local, state, and national communities and the amazing but tenuous gift of freedom and self-governance they have inherited and have a duty to defend & protect for their posterity.

Each person is called to play a role in their society as a “doer.” Everyone does something to provide for themselves and their families, to nurture their families, to build financial independence, to contribute to the collective economy, and to serve others in their circle of influence. To live life to the fullest, those who choose “to grow where they are planted” will be able to look back at the closure of their life and have immense pride in the “race they have run.” The stories of quiet and sacrificial service and the critical National Security thinking captured under the Sailor Paradigm leverage decades of service as a Submarine Sailor conducting high-risk operations and leading men & women Sailors in the execution of those operations around the Globe. While there is a National Security and U.S. Navy focus in many of these stories, the hope is that the reader will translate this thinking to their own unique situation and to apply those reflections as they serve in their own unique capacity.
